Harley Lakota-Davidson Hicks, 19 of Silver Creek, and Grady Patric Hulsey, 41 of Rome, weres arrested this week after reports said they nearly starved a bulldog mix to death.
Police said that they found the animal malnourished and emaciated. The animal appeared to register a 2/9 on the Purina BCS scale. Its ribs, vertebrae, and pelvic bones were easily visible as well as other bony prominences.
Authorities said that they were told that the men had only been feeding the animal table scraps for two weeks due to him not having dog food.
Both are charged with aggravated animal cruelty.
