Steven Lamar Barnes, 41 of Rome, was jailed this week after reports said he hit, kicked and threatened to kill an arresting officer.
Reports said that Barnes struck an officer with his fist, legs and feet while being arrested for disorderly conduct at the Dollar General at Central Plaza.
Officers were dispatched to the store after Barnes allegedly purposely kicked and knocked store shelves over.
Barnes was also found with marijuana while being taken into custody.
Barnes is charged with felony obstruction, terroristic threats/acts, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and probation violation.
