Timothy Carey Horton Sr, 44 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he cashed a fake check that was written for $422.17.
The check was cashed at A-1 Food Mart on Burnett Ferry Road.
Horton is charged with first degree forgery, and executing a fictitious check.
