Bridgett Danielle Holcomb, 33 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said officers found two pit mix puppies in horrible health conditions.

Reports said that one dog was found with a prolapsed uterus that had been present for at least five days.

A second dog was found to have been tethered to a fence for an unspecified amount of time without water and food.  The dog had caused injuries to her neck from attempting to get loose.  She was suffering from dehydration and a sore that was infested with maggots.  Her injuries were so severe she had to undergo immediate surgery.

Both dogs were listed at a 2/9 on the health scale.

Holcomb is charged with two counts aggravated cruelty to animals.
