Misty Dawn Lopez Malpica, 43 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he failed to provide adequate care for a child.
Police said that they found Dawn’s home covered in trash, dog urine, dog feces, and with an infestation of fleas and coach roaches.
Authorities added that they also found a large adult dog named “Gus” without adequate food and water. The animal scored a 2 out of 9 on the body scale system.
A second dog named “Cecil was also found in deplorable condition and ranked a 3 out of 9 on the body scale system.
Two other dogs were also found without food and water that was abandoned by the suspect.
Malpica is charged with 1st degree cruelty to children, three counts aggravated cruelty to animals and cruelty to animals.
