Jeffary Lee Akins, 31 of Rome, was arrested after riping the front door of a home off its hinges on Plymouth Road and then attacking a woman in front of her children.
Reports said that Atkins beat the woman in the face and arms resulting in multiple bruises and bleeding areas.
The victim’s two children witnessed the attack.
Atkins also threatened to do harm to a second female inside the home.
Authorities went on to say that Atkins drove to the home on a suspended license.
Akins is charged with battery, two counts cruelty to children, 2nd degree criminal damage to property, driving on a suspended license and terroristic threats and acts.
