The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome says that a Bowdon, Georgia man, identified as Jerry Wayne Browning, lost his life in an accident on Highway 27 in Chattooga County on Saturday evening.
The accident is still under investigation.Â
The following is a preliminary report from the Georgia State Patrol:
On Saturday, August 6, 2023, at 5:24 pm, Troopers from Post 38 Rome responded to a two-vehicle crash on GA 1 at Marble Springs Road, in Chattooga County. A 2001 Chevrolet S10 truck was traveling south on GA 1 when a 2017 Toyota RAV 4 entered GA 1 from Marble Springs Road, striking the Chevrolet truck. The driver of the Chevrolet S10, Mr. Jerry Wayne Browning of Bowdon, Georgia, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The Georgia State Patrol Troop A Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating.
