Anthony Joe Van Baldwin, 34 of Lindale, was arrested this week after reports said he lied to police in order to prevent his girlfriend from being arrested.
Reports said that Baldwin told authorities that his girlfriend who was with him at the Walmart was “Sandra Baldwin” and not her real name. Baldwin reportedly knew that his girlfriend Melissa Battles had an active warrant for her arrest.
Baldwin is charged with false statements and writings.
