Marcus Demond Williams, 29 of Cartersville, was arrested in Rome after reports said he attacked police officers while they were responding to a call that he was trespassing at Housing Authority Property on Martin Luther King Blvd.
When officers arrived on scene they found Williams lying under a vehicle. They stated that Williams initially refused to get out from under. However, after finally getting up, Williams proceeded to attack officers. He is accused of hitting their bodies and heads while spitting at them.
Before police arrived, Williams was accused of making false statements to 911 dispatch as well as kicking a door to a home on the property.
Williams is charged with felony obstruction, willful obstruction of law enforcement, false statements and writings, prowling, criminal trespass damage to property, criminal trespass after being banned, unlawful conduct during a 911 call.
