Rome Man Jailed for Laying Drag while Drunk

Chance Dalton Beam, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he laid drag while driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said that they observed Beam speed away at a high rate of speed on Maple Street at E 14^th Street.

Officers added that during the traffic stop they also discovered that Beam was driving without a valid license and registration.  

Beam is charged with DUI, laying drag, operation of an unregistered vehicle, break light violation, and driving on a suspended license.
