Marquez Jayquione Jones, 28 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he was found with drugs following his beating of a woman on Kirton Street.
Police said that Jones punched and kicked the woman during an altercation just after noon on Friday.
While authorities were placing him under arrest, officers said that Jones was found with methamphetamine in two glass smoking pipes, a metal container containing meth, a plastic pen, a glass bowl, and a needle.
Jones is charged with battery, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.
