James Henry Laster, 60 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found in possession of drugs while yelling obscene and vulgar language at Publix.
Police said that Laster was acting violently before they were dispatched to the scene.
After speaking with Laster, officers added that they found him with prescription medication that did not belong to him.
Laster is charged with possession-distribution of dangerous drugs, disorderly conduct and parole violation.
