Johnathan Lee Asher, 45 of Cedartown, was arrested in Rome this week after reports said he beat a woman in the head with a sharpened object.
Reports stated that the victim, who was in a relationship with Asher, suffered a severe laceration that resulted in her receiving multiple staples to her head.
Asher is also accused of forcing his way into the victim’s home on Covered Springs Road by kicking in the front door.
Police went on to say that Asher also repeatedly punched the woman in the face and head with his fist. The beating resulted in visible swelling and bruising to both her eyes and lip.
Asher is charged with aggravated assault, first degree burglary and battery.
