Brian David Blalock, 49 of Adairsville, was arrested this week after reports said he tried to run over his date with his car.
Reports said that the two were on their first date last Saturday when things went south.
The victim said that they had gone to The Local on Erwin Street in Cartersville and had a few alcoholic drinks. She stated that she went to the rear patio to smoke when Blalock calling her to see where she went. The victim then walked to the front patio to where Blaylock was smoking.
It was at that point that Blalock reportedly became violent and wanted to leave. The victim stated that she wanted to stay and would find another ride home.
When she went to get her purse from his car, Blalock pulled away as she was learning inside to get it.
The victim told police that she was thrown from his SUV into a post and then fell to the ground.
The victim was left with visible scratches to her shoulder and knee. She also complained of a headache.
While speaking with police, Blaylock called the victim and said that she should have gotten into his car.
She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Blalock was later arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
