Recently, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Floyd County Police Department, and Rome Police Department joined forces to conduct a comprehensive active shooter training at the old Midway School. This joint effort highlights the commitment of our local law enforcement agencies to prioritize officer training and underscores the paramount importance of ensuring public safety in our community.
In today’s ever-changing and complex world, law enforcement faces unprecedented challenges. One such challenge is the rising threat of active shooter incidents, which demands a swift and coordinated response from first responders. Recognizing this reality, our dedicated officers have chosen to proactively equip themselves with the necessary skills and knowledge to protect and serve our citizens effectively.
The collaborative nature of this training exercise exemplifies the unity and camaraderie that exists among our law enforcement agencies. By combining their resources, expertise, and experiences, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Floyd County Police Department, and Rome Police Department have created a training program that exceeds industry standards.
