Homer Alexander Williams III, 26 of Trion, was arrested in Rome after reports said he attacked paramedics while being transported to Atrium Health Hospital.
Police said that Williams removed his restraints before attempting to jump out of the ambulance.
Williams then allegedly grabbed a paramedic and forced him onto the stretcher.
Williams is charged with battery and inference with emergency medical personnel.
