The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome says that a man lost his life on Saturday afternoon after a single-vehicle accident on Highway 27 near Scott Hill Road.
A trooper responded to the scene of the accident at 12:37 PM. The vehicle left the roadway on Highway 27 in a curve and struck a culvert. The impact caused the vehicle to vault over a driveway and strike a ditch. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn on its left side. The driver was unresponsive when troopers arrived.
He was taken to Atrium Health Floyd in Rome, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver was identified as sixty-four-year-old Richard Bevans.
