Michael Vernon Davis, 40 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he failed to get his dog Betty immediate veterinarian care.
Reports said that Betty fractured her right femur which caused her leg to have to be amputated due to its severity.
The incident occurred back on June 23rd at a home on Drummond Drive.
Davis is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
