Floyd County Police arrested, Michael Wayne Dykes, 44, and Haley Laray Dykes , 37, both of Rome, after reports said they stole and then scraped a GMC Envoy .
Reports said that the couple stole then sold the car that had been placed on their property at East Drive. Police stated that they had told the couple to have the vehicle to towed at the owner’s expense. Instead, they scraped the vehicle and was paid $300.
Michael Dykes is accused of writing a fake bill of sale in order to scrap the car.
Both are charged with theft by conversion.
Michael is additionally charged with theft by deception.
