Geoffry Frank Walker, 30 of Breman, was arrested this week after reports said he imprisoned and attempted to strangle a 27 year-old woman to death at a home on Kingston Avenue in Rome.
Reports added that during the attack Walker proceeded to use his hands to beat the woman in the face.
Walker is charged with aggravated assault, battery and false imprisonment.
