Zachary Colt Edwards Sr, 25 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found with methamphetamine while running from police on a bicycle.
Officers said that during the chase Edwards attempted to discard the drugs to avoid charges.
Edwards is charged with possession of methamphetamine, abandonment of dangerous drugs, two counts obstruction, and possession of dangerous drugs.
