During a joint called Board meeting Wednesday morning, the Floyd County Board of Education entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Floyd County Board of Commissioners to transfer ownership of the former Glenwood School campus.

The transfer was voted on and accepted to use the campus for the new Floyd County Police Department headquarters.

Following the move, the Law Enforcement Center will be renovated and house court rooms.

The school system will not receive any funds for the property.

The FCBOE issued the following statement, “We appreciate the working partnership with the Floyd County Government and are looking forward to the positive things this agreement does to strengthen the Floyd County infrastructure for the community at large.”
