Horace Wimbey Jr, 72 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he poured a glass of water on a 38 year-old woman.
Police said that when officers arrived Wilbley attempted to close the door on them in an effort to prevent speaking with them.
Wimbey is charged with battery, obstruction and probation violation.
