James Franklin Wade, 52 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he hit a Rome Transit Department bus driver in the face.
Reports said that the victim told authorities that he was hit so hard that he “rang his bell” and caused him to see stars.
The incident occurred at a stop on Riverbend Drive last October.
The victim was taken to a wellness center for signs of a possible concussion.
Wade is charged with battery in a public transit vehicle.
