Clayton Hunter Compton, 20 of Cedartown, was arrested this week after reports said he shot at a woman during a dispute on Kings Court.
Reports stated that Compton discharged the firearm twice in the direction of a 22 year-old woman.
Police added that Compton was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the shooting.
A small child witnessed the incident.
Compton is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, cruelty to children in the third degree, reckless conduct and discharging a firearm under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
