A 30 year-old Armuchee woman, Jennifer Whitley, was killed in a single vehicle accident early Saturday morning on US 27 near the Armuchee Pharmacy.
According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor, Whitney was driving south when her vehicle crossed all lanes of travel and ended up hitting a ditch and flipping multiple times off the northbound shoulder.
Reports said that after the vehicle left the roadway it ended up in a nearby wooded area.
Proctor said that the accident occurred around 3:30 am but the call of the wreck did not come in for over an hour.
Whitley was pronounced dead just after 5 am.
Initial reports said that they do NOT feel alcohol was invloved, but the investigation is ongoing.
