Despite a fighting attempt on the diamond by the Coosa Eagles, the Armuchee Indians took game 3 on Friday 6-4. The Indians claimed the series 2 games to 1 and are now in the driver’s seat for the fourth seed of the playoffs.
On Friday, Armuchee jumped out to a 5-run lead but Coosa fought back after scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Coosa had a shot to take the lead with the bases loaded at the bottom of the 6th, but a pop-out ended the rally.
Armuchee’s Ethan Campbell earned the win with Coosa’s Pacey Smith taking the loss.
Campbell allowed four runs on five hits with Smith giving up six runs (four earned) on five hits.
Coosa’s Colton McBurnett led the Eagles on the day with three hits, scoring one run. He also came in relief, pitching three innings and only allowing one hit and no runs.
For the Indians, junior Marcus Harris collected two hits and two RBIs on the night.
