Jason Jermaine Staples Sr, 44 of Armuchee, was arrested this week after police said they found him in possession of methamphetamine after lying about his identity.
Reports said that Staples lied to authorities about his identity in order to escape arrest for an active warrant.
After discovering his identity, officers found meth on Staples during a search.
Staples is charged with possession of methamphetamine, giving false information to police, probation violation.
