At  5:26 p.m. on Thursday, the 911 dispatch center received a call about a motor vehicle accident involving a small child. The child, a fifteen-month-old was struck by a car as it backed out of a driveway on Padlock Road.  The child was unresponsive at the scene and was transported by EMS to Floyd Atrium Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.  

Brittany Wallace, the mother of the toddler, was babysitting for a friend and was helping to load that child into a vehicle.  The friend, identified as Sierra Binion, began to reverse and struck Wallace’s child, who had unknowingly walked behind the vehicle.

Police do not expect charges in this case.
