Task Force Arrest Two in Drug Bust on Paris Drive

The Rome Floyd Metro Drug Task Force arrested two people Daniel Chessman Smith, 47, and Dorsey Newman III, 50, both of Rome, during the execution of a search warrant at a 117 B Paris Drive Home.

Police said that the search resulted in officers finding cocaine, marijuana, tramadol, and digital scales.  

Both are charged with possession of marijuana.

Smith is charged additionally charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drug related objects and a second charge of possession of marijuana.

Newman is also charged with possession of cocaine and probation violation.
