An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Joshua Ray Bannister, 36 of Rome, is facing additional charges, including burglary following an investigation this week.

Reports said that between February 5 and 15, Bannister burglarized Graves Auto Sales on Martha Berry Blvd on two separate occasions.

Officers added that Bannister was seen carrying a television from the business by someone who knew him.

Bannister is now charged with two counts of burglary and theft by taking.

Joshua Ray Bannister, 36 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he burglarized and stole from an elderly woman.

Police said that Bannister is accused of repeatedly taking food and money from an elderly woman on 2nd Street in Lindale.

Reports said that Bannister was told not to come back to the home, but later came back and entered the home through a window, where he again stole from the victim.

Bannister is also accused of stealing a child’s bicycle from a home on Garden Avenue

Bannister is charged with first degree burglary, theft by taking, exploitation and intimidation of the elderly, criminal trespass and probation violation.
