Billy Derrick Boston, 57 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he placed his hands around the throat of a 57 year-old woman in an attempt to choke her.
Boston is then accused of shoving the victim into a home appliance.
The victim suffered visible injuries from the attack, which occurred at a home on E Little Indian Trail.
Boston is charged with aggravated assault and battery.
