Timothy Luke Swann, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he sold someone a homemade utility trailer in which he illegally obtained.
Police said that Swann signed the bill of sale with a fraudulent name.
Swann sold the trailer for $500 plus a $20 delivery fee.
Swan is charged with theft by taking and theft by deception.
