An educator and coach for Polk School District, Sara Bahena-Roman, 23, was arrested this week after reports said she beat a family member in the face with her fist.
Reports said that officers were dispatched to a home on Chestnut Street in response to a physical altercation at a child’s birthday party.
Officers said that the victim told them that Bahena-Roman was related to her nephew’s mother and that they had never gotten along. She added that when Bahena-Roman began to argue with and get in her face despite pleas not to.
The victim then told police that Bahena-Roman punched her in the face before fleeing the scene.
Officers added that the victim suffered physical injuries to her nose and check.
Bahena-Roman is charged with simple battery.
