First responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Highways 9 and 35 just after 10:00 Wednesday morning, involving a 2008 Jeep and a 2020 Dodge.  The wreck was reportedly head-on, leading to one driver being entrapped.

Cherokee County Coroner Paul McDonald tells WEIS Radio News that one person was fatally injured in that wreck; according to Alabama State Troopers, Clair Bryant, age 22 of Cedar Bluff, driving the Jeep has been identified as the victim.  Meanwhile – the driver of the Dodge, Taleena Kely of a Cave Spring, Georgia address, was transported for treatment.  So far, no information regarding her condition has been released.

Emergency personnel closed down the roadway from the scene of the accident to the Georgia State line for an extended period of time.

Those responding to the scene included State Troopers, Atrium Floyd EMS units, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and members of the Gaylesville and Cedar Bluff Fire Departments.

The wreck remains under investigation by the Cherokee County Coroner’s Office and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
