William Tray Mears Jr, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he went to a home on East 13th Street and discharged a handgun near the road.

Reports went on to say that Mears proceeded to threaten to use the handgun on the victim after damaging her property and vehicle.

The incident occurred in front of three juvenile children.

Authorities also added that Mears had been previously banned from government housing.  He had also been ordered by the courts to stay away from the victim after attacking her (see story below).

Mears is charged with aggravated stalking, criminal trespass, discharging a firearm near a public highway, cruelty to children and terroristic threats and acts.
