Paul Alexander Forsythe Trevino, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he repeatedly beat a woman in the head at a home on East 14th Street.
Police stated that the victim was left with visible injuries to her head and face.
While being taken into custody, police said that they found him in possession of Tramadol that was not in its original container.
Trevino is charged with battery, possession of a schedule II controlled substance and drugs not in original container
