An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Eric Marc Gragg, 35 of Rome, is facing new felony charges after he allegedly severely injured a deputy.

Reports said that Gragg struck an officer in the face, resulting in a tooth being knocked out.  Gragg then continued to attack other deputies while they were trying to physically restrain him.

Gragg is now charged with felony aggravated battery, felony obstruction, battery, misdemeanor obstruction and unlawful acts in a penal institution.

Gragg was fist booked into the jail on December 17th with an outstanding warrant from Gordon County.
