Edan Marshall Alexander, 45 of Ellijay, was arrested in Rome after reports said he altered the amount of an check, which belonged to the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Reports said that Alexander changed the check from $213.95 to $2,266.77.
The incident occurred back in early October.
Alexander is charged with 3rd degree forgery.
