A Cedartown couple, Dewey Franklin Saunders, 40, and Sabrina Ellen Saunders, 35, were arrested at the Creekside Inn after dogs were found in malnourished condition and chained up.

Reports stated that one dog was found chained to a truck bed for three days.  The dog appeared malnourished with its spine, hips and ribs showing.

A second dog was found locked inside a vehicle with the windows rolled up.  Police estimated that the dog had been locked inside without ventilation for three days.  It also displayed its ribs, hips and spine.  The officers added that the suspects placed cardboard inside the vehicle to hide the dog from view.

Both are charged with two counts aggravated cruelty to animals.
