Katania Lagrace Holmes, 28 of Cartersville, was arrested at Broad Street in Rome after police said she caused a wreck while drunk and then refused to comply with officers.

Reports stated that Holmes crossed both lanes of travel as she backed out of a parking space in the 300 block of Broad Street. While backing, she allegedly hit a truck despite them laying on the horn to warn her.

When officers arrived on scene, police said that they detected alcohol on her breath. However, Holmes refused to take a breathalyzer or field sobriety test.  She is then accused of refusing to give officers her hands so that they could handcuff her.  Then while being forced into handcuffs, police said that Holmes began to kick and scream at them.

After being placed in the patrol car, Holmes is then accused of getting out of her handcuffs.

She is charged with improper backing, DUI, driving on a suspended license and five counts of felony obstruction.
