Darin Keyon Porter, 31 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he conspired with another inmate to sneak two pounds of pipe tobacco into the Floyd County Prison.
Reports said that Porter and the inmate were splitting the profit made for selling the tobacco to other inmates. Reports added that Porter had agreed to purchase the product and place the contraband into a specific trash can at the Rotary Memorial Park, which he did before it was intercepted by prison investigators.
Porter is charged with items prohibited by an inmate.
