Rome Man Jailed After Stealing $4,000 in Quarters

Samuel Lewis Burger, 33 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he burglarized a laundry mat on Shorter Avenue.

Reports said that on October 29^th, Burger used a pry bar to enter the office of the business and stole $4,000 in quarters.

Police added that he was also wanted for a theft that occurred back on August 31^st.  Reports stated that Burger was found with an INNOVA scanner that had been reported stolen.  Burger then found himself in possession of the item before selling it for $40.

Burger is charged with second degree burglary and two counts theft by receiving stolen property.
