Josefina Gomez Gutierez, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she slapped a 17 year-old in the face.
The victim told police that they were struck twice by Gutierez’s hand.
Gutierez is charged with simple battery and cruelty to children in the 1st degree.
