An inmate at the Floyd County Jail, Lamar Cantrell Hunter, 46 of Rome, is facing six additional counts of armed robberies around the area following a lengthy investigation.

Hunter is charged with the following armed robberies:

September 3, 2019 at 1912 Maple Avenue.

September 5th 2019 at 2039 Maple Avenue.

December 16, 2021 at 1808 Dean Avenue.

June 18, 2022 at 2017 Maple Avenue.

July 12, 2022 at 2017 Maple Avenue

July 23, 2022 at 1808 Dean Avenue

As stated below, Hunter was finally captured after using a gun to rob the Big H store in South Rome.

A 46 year-old Rome man, Lamar Cantrell Hunter, who was accused of the armed robbery of the Big H store has now been charged with a second robbery.

Reports said that Hunter robbed the Hi-Tech on South Broad Street while armed with a gun last Saturday.

Police went on say that Hunter threatened the employee and demanded cash.

Hunter is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

He was also accused of burglarizing the Dollar Tree on Maple Street back in September of 2019.

Lamar Cantrell Hunter 46 of Rome, was arrested at his home on Myrtle Street after reports said he robbed the Big H store at gunpoint back on July 28th.

Reports said that Hunter pulled the gun out and then demanded cash from the register.  Hunter then fled the scene after stealing $327.

He is then accused of going to a home on Crane Street that he had been previously banned from.

Hunter is charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and aggravated stalking.
