Billy John Hammonds, 50 of Silver Creek, was arrested this week after leading police on a chase at speeds of over 100mph.

The chase started on Booze Mountain Road where officers attempted to pull him over for changing a license plate on his car with the purpose of concealing the identity of the vehicle.

During the chase, Hammonds reportedly ran numerous stop signs and redlights while driving at the high rate of speed.

Hammonds eventually stopped on Burkhalter Road, where he was found with methamphetamine in his pocket.

Hammonds is charged with possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving, attempting to elude police, concealing the identity of a vehicle, fleeing police, probation violation and failure to appear.
