Tyler Quanes Wharton, 22 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he hit his pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend in the face.
Police said that the couple have been living together for the past two months.
Wharton is charged with simple battery against a pregnant person and cruelty to children in the 2nd degree.
