Steven Ashley Storey, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he broke into a car and then stole money at a location on Alabama Highway.
Reports said that on September 1, Storey entered the victim’s car and stole $50 from the driver’s compartment. After taking the money Storey allegedly fled across the parking lot of Circle A Fences up into Oaknoll Cemetery.
The following day, Storey shoved the victim to the ground when they attempted to get their money back.
When police took Storey into custody they said he was in possession of methamphetamine
Storey is charged with robbery, theft by taking, battery, entering an automobile with the intent to commit a felony, possession of methamphetamine and failure to appear.
