Rome Woman Drives Drunk with Child in Car, Commits Hit and Run

Shelley Samantha Hass, 35 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she committed a hit and run while intoxicated with a child in the car.

Police said that Hass sideswiped another vehicle while pulling onto Old Summerville Road before leaving the scene of the accident.

Officers added that after locating Hass they discovered an opened container of alcohol inside the vehicle.

Reports did not indicate the age of the child that was in the vehicle during the time of the accident.

Hass is charged with endangering a child by DUIi, hit and run, failure to maintain lane and an open container violation.
