Rome High School’s football team finds itself in rare company. The Georgia High School Football Daily released a list of teams from Class 6A with the most wins over the last 10 years and Rome High comes in at No. 7 on the list with 90 wins, 74 coming in the past seven years. Blessed Trinity tops the list with 114 wins, with Marist (110) and Lee County High School (102) rounding out the top three.

Head coach John Reid took over the Rome program in 2015 and since then the Wolves have averaged 10.5 wins per year playing a typically brutal schedule. The Wolves have also won two state titles, the first in school history, captured four region titles and have reached the playoffs in seven consecutive seasons.

Of interest to Rome High fans could be a name a couple of notches higher on the list, Allatoona. Rome and Allatoona are in the same region, Region 6-6A, and the two squads meet to open region play at Barron Stadium on Friday, Sept. 23. Another region foe, Creekview, also made the list with 73 wins over the last 10 years. Rome and Creekview play at Barron Stadium on Friday, Oct. 28.
